How to install or flash custom/stock ROM into any android Phone without PC.

Caution:- Installing Custom/Stock ROM may damage or brick your phone and can cause bootloop if you do not follow the steps carefully. Please note that we are not responsible if any type of damage occurs. Also always have a backup of your current ROM in case if you are flashing custom ROM.

 Now in order  to install or flash Custom ROM without using a computer/PC, you need to have access to your phone's system you are going to need the following:
1) An unlocked Bootloader
2) Have a custom recovery installed
3) Gapps
3) Custom/Stock ROM

STEP 1: Installation of a custom recovery

First of all, make sure that you have an unlocked bootloader and you have a custom recovery installed on your device. If not then watch my video at How to install custom recovery in any android phone. or read our article on How to install the custom recovery on an android phone without PC.

STEP 2: Downloading the ROM to your mobile.

Now moving ahead you need to download a custom or the stock room for your mobile. Search on Google with your Device name and model and then download a ROM for your device if available. Now here be careful about downloading the appropriate ROM for your mobile because flashing the wrong ROM may prove fatal to your phone and may brick it permanently after which it may be difficult or impossible to recover your phone even if you take it to a service center.
After Downloading the ROM save it to the SD card in your Mobile.

STEP 3: Downloading Gapps


Now, this is also an important step before flashing because gapps contain the most important and essential apps for your Android device such as google play store, File Manager, Google Chrome, etc.So without gapps, you can use your device properly.
Again here be careful to download the proper gapps for your particular version of ROM. Suppose if you have downloaded Android 6.0 ROM for your device, then you just need to download Gapps.

STEP 4: Reboot into Recovery


  • Now to get into or reboot your device into recovery mode. Just Switch off your phone >> Push the Power & Volume+ button together and hold it for 10 seconds to enter into recovery.
  • Again make sure that you back up your current ROM.
  • Now select the Wipe option from the recovery home.
  • After clicking on the wipe option, Swipe to Confirm and Wipe Data, Cache, and Dalvik


STEP 5: Installing the custom ROM from your SD card
  • First of all Goto the Install Option from the Recovery.
  • Locate the ROM zip file which you have downloaded.
  • Confirm and Install the zip and wait for the successful completion of the installation.


STEP 6: Installing GAPPS

  • After installing the ROM, again goto the Install option.
  • Locate the GApps zip file which you have saved on your SD Card.
  • Wait till the installation completes.
  • After completing the flashing process, Wipe Cache, Dalvik/ART cache.
  • Now, Reboot your device.

There you go! you have successfully installed the STOCK/CUSTOM ROM on your android device.
